THE MCKAY SUPERANNUATION FUND INDIGENOUS ART COLLECTION – ONLINE AUCTION

Following on from our successful 2016 sales of selected works from The McKay Superannuation Fund Collection, Brisbane, Deutscher and Hackett are pleased to offer the final paintings and sculptures from the collection. Assembled over a decade, Graham and Glenda McKay put together a unique collection of Contemporary Australian Indigenous art that focused on younger artists and was acquired predominantly from recently established community art centres.

This final group of 39 works includes bark paintings and sculpture by respected Arnhem Land artists John Mawurndjul, Djambawa Marawili and Philip Gudthaykudthay together with recent desert canvases by Harry Tjutjuna, Tiger Palpatja and Fred Grant. Also on offer are a number of large works by some of the current stars of indigenous art including Cornelia Tipuamantumirri and Naomi Hobson.

This timed online auction gives buyers the opportunity to acquire high quality examples by leading Indigenous artists from the McKay Superannuation Fund Art Collection and reinforces Deutscher and Hackett’s commitment to offering outstanding works of impeccable provenance to the market.

The auction runs until 7pm on Sunday 18 June.
