Crispin Gutteridge
Head of Aboriginal Art & Senior Art Specialist
Crispin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts and History) from Monash University. In 1995, he began
working for Sotheby’s Australia, where he became the representative for Aboriginal art in Melbourne. In
2006 Crispin joined Joel Fine Art as head of Aboriginal and Contemporary Art and later was appointed
head of the Sydney office. He possesses extensive knowledge of Aboriginal art and has over 15 years
experience in the Australian fine art auction market.

Merryn Schriever
Art Specialist
Merryn has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (National Art School) and a post graduate Certificate in Management (Macquarie Graduate School of Management). She has gained expertise in both the Australian art market and in public institutions, joining Deutscher and Hackettfrom a Business Development role at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Prior to this, Merryn managed a leading contemporary art gallery in Sydney which specialised in contemporary photo-media and installation.

Richard Ennis
Art Specialist
Richard Ennis holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from La Trobe University where he was awarded the
Peter Reynolds Prize for Honours Art History and was the recipient of a La Trobe University Research
Scholarship (School of Art History). After three years of research and tutoring undergraduate courses,
he began his career in the commercial sector in 2003 as an art valuer and auctioneer at Leonard Joel
Auctions, becoming their Head of Art in 2008. In 2009 he was invited to be Head of Art at Artemis
Auctions before joining Deutscher and Hackett.

Fiona Mowat
Registrar
Fiona has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours, UQ) and Master of Arts (NTU) in Anthropology, specialising in
northern Australian Archaeology and Prehistory. She has over fifteen years of art handling, cataloguing
and database management experience as Collection Manager, Aboriginal Heritage at the Museum and
Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, and more recently as Assistant Registrar and Collection Information
Systems Officer at Queensland Art Gallery.

Trina May
Finance & Administration Manager
With a Bachelor of Commerce, Trina has gained accountancy experience within a range of industries
both locally and internationally. Upon returning to Australia in 2003, after working in London within local
government, she continued in the field of finance gaining particular experience in tax and business
services. In 2008, Trina joined Deutscher and Hackett after working at Trinity College Dublin and brings
to the company strong business and accounting skills. |
Ivy Boardman
Gallery Manager, Sydney
Ivy graduated in 2001 with a BA (Fine Arts)
from the University of Western Sydney and was
appointed Education Officer at the Campbelltown
City Art Gallery. In 2002, she moved into the
commercial sector, managing a high profile
gallery in Paddington specialising in Modern
Australian and aboriginal art. She has gained
a thorough understanding of the auction industry
through various roles, most recently Administrator
for Deutscher~Menzies Sydney. |
Anita Archer
Head Auctioneer
Anita has her BA (Honours) at the University
of Leicester, England. After undertaking
postgraduate studies at Sotheby’s London,
she managed two leading decorative art
galleries in London. Moving to Australia, Anita
was Business Manager & Head Auctioneer
of Deutscher-Menzies, and General Manager
of Lawson-Menzies. She has been an independent
art consultant since 2002, incorporating her
roles as Head Auctioneer for D~M until 2006
and
co-auctioneer for Larasati, Jakarta.
