D+H TEMPORARY GALLERY CLOSURE TO THE PUBLIC

In response to the unprecedented COVID-19 outbreak and following further Stage 2 announcements by the Federal Government, D+H will be temporarily closed to the public from Thursday 26 March.

Collection of recently purchased artworks from our Melbourne and Sydney galleries can still be arranged by appointment and all staff will continue in their usual roles, most working remotely.

This precautionary decision plays a part in slowing down the spread of the coronavirus and is a necessary step in protecting the safety of our wonderful staff, valued clients and community as a whole.

At this stage our forthcoming Important Australian + International Fine Art auction scheduled for early May, has been postponed until 17 June 2020. This sale date may be subject to change based on relevant advice and the recommendations from Federal and State Governments.

ONLINE AUCTIONS

We understand that the intention of the new restriction on auction houses is to minimise gatherings of people, and we entirely agree.  As the Prime Minister said,  “In the retail space, auction houses, gatherings together in auction rooms, that can no longer continue.”

We also believe that a trusted online market place will be an important ongoing service and we will continue to provide this option for our clients, subject to government policy.

We remain ready and available to assist online or by appointment with any collection of purchases, appraisals and enquiries.
