When selected as a Wynne Prize finalist in 1987, Michael Gleeson-White, president of the Art Gallery of NSW trustees, was captivated by Robinson's innovation. He sought to acquire it for the Gallery's permanent collection, but when that proved impossible, Gleeson-White bought it for himself. Now, from his estate, it goes to auction.
