This work is accompanied by a copy of a certificate of authenticity from Short Street Gallery which states: ‘This ilma song is about the beal beal (or bardi raft) also a galwa is skipping across the surface of the ocean as Roy’s father is taken out to sea. This is the movement of the raft on the water – like a skipping stone.’
