Explaining the reasons for the Minoan works Len stated: ‘I began as a young man painting from the Greek myths and legends of the Iliad and the Odyssey. Now I have come back to the Greeks and looked at what came before – the Minoans – a civilisation that was brought to an end in the 2nd millennium BC as a result of a volcanic eruption of cataclysmic proportions. These paintings are my response’. 1
