In a letter from Rubery Bennett of the Australian Fine Arts Gallery, Sydney to Gayfield Shaw on 3 March 1925, Bennett notes that this work was among the Gruners he had received from Shaw ‘this day’. Gruner lists the work in his ledger and notes that it was later sold through the Macquarie Galleries, Sydney.
