This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Papunya Tula Artists which states:

‘This painting relates to a Tingari Cycle story. The design elements are associated with wati ku (men’s) ceremony at the rockhole sit of Wiluna, far to the west of Kiwirrkura community. The central roundel represents the rockhole while the four others represent the places these wati came from. Since this is a Tingari story no further information was given. Generally, the Tingari are a group of mythical characters of the Dreaming who travelled over vast stretches of the country, performing rituals and creating and shaping particular sites.’
